Rural Arts Treasurer - voluntary post

Are you interested in the arts? Interested in voluntary work? A qualified accountant able to give an average one-hour per month?

A vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of our existing treasurer of nearly 10 years, and we are seeking a replacement to begin 18th September 2008.

Rural Arts North Yorkshire was created over 15 years ago and is now entering a final phase of redevelopment of the Old Courthouse to provide an improved arts and education centre. The conversion of the Courtroom as a conference, training and performance venue was completed in 2006. The adjoining Clerk’s House will be improved to provide full disabled access, a media suite, rooms for hire and an artist’s studio.

We are funded from a variety of public sources, private trusts & foundations, as well as some trading activities in the form of room hire, project work & courses.

Essential Requirements

  • Formal accountancy qualification
  • An interest & knowledge in the work of the arts & Rural Arts
  • Able to give one hour per month plus 4 quarterly meetings (flexible to suit)
  • Knowledge of reconciliations

Unfortunately no remuneration is available for this position as you will be a voluntary trustee.
